Swift recruits senior executive from Barclays Corporate to lead its North American business

Swift has appointed Dave Scola as its Head of North America. Previously Global Head of Financial Institutions at Barclays, Scola will take responsibility for Swift’s innovation and growth strategy in the US and Canada.

Based in New York, Scola will be charged with strengthening Swift’s key account relationships in North America and reinforcing industry thought leadership. He will also be responsible for delivering commercial performance across the company’s products and services – with a particular focus on driving growth in Swift’s global payments innovation (gpi) service and financial crime compliance portfolio.

As Global Head of Financial Institutions at Barclays, Scola led a team of relationship managers to service banks and broker dealers across all major financial centres. He was also a member of the bank’s global transaction banking (GTB) management committee.

Prior to Barclays, Scola spent seven years at Deutsche Bank as Head of their Strategic Development Group. Earlier in his career, he also worked in the Corporate Trust Division at BNY Mellon.

Scola will take up his position at Swift on 1 October.
