Speaking at a major cyber security industry event, Swift’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) this week underlined the importance of Swift’s Customer Security Programme (CSP) in driving greater cyber threat information sharing.

Alain Desausoi, Swift’s CISO, emphasised the need for greater levels of intelligence sharing across the global financial community at Black Hat USA, a high profile gathering of the global information security community.

The Black Hat CISO Summit, a select gathering of leading cybersecurity experts from a range of organisations, was held on the second day of the event. Speaking on a CISO panel entitled, ‘Accelerating Security Through Effective Information Sharing’, Desausoi underlined the lengths Swift is going to in gathering and sharing cyber security information with its community: “Following recent cyberattacks targeting our customers, Swift has employed a highly effective approach gathering and sharing information about the malware used in the attacks, as well as indicators of compromise. We are able to inform our customers on the threats they face and provide them with additional tools to help them protect themselves – all whilst preserving the confidentiality and anonymity of the organisations involved.”

Having accurate, up to date information on relevant cyber threats is critical. We are committed to driving greater levels of intelligence sharing across the global community through our Customer Security Programme.

The final day of the conference saw Desausoi participate in a panel examining how threat intelligence can help organisations to better secure their environments. Highlighting the work of the cooperative’s Customer Security Programme, Desausoi underscored Swift’s commitment to exchange threat intelligence with its community: “Having accurate, up to date information on relevant cyber threats is critical. We are committed to driving greater levels of intelligence sharing across the global community through our Customer Security Programme.”
