Whether you’re joining us live in Amsterdam, or tuning in digitally, there’s a lot to look forward to on the Swift programme at this year’s Sibos.
Sibos lands at the RAI in Amsterdam from 10-13 October, bringing the financial community together for the ultimate meeting of the minds. Sibos is where business happens. It’s where new relationships and ideas are born. And where existing relationships and ideas continue to grow.
This year’s theme is ‘Progressive finance for a changing world,’ and sees the main programme boast over 250 speakers and 150 sessions. We’ve got our own exciting Swift programme as well designed to educate and inspire our community and showcase the latest innovations shaping the future of finance.
Here’s what you won’t want to miss at Swift at Sibos 2022.
Fast and predictable payments
Cross-border payment volumes continue to grow, and not only for high-value corporate payments. As individuals and small businesses send more and more international transactions every day, it’s important that the industry evolves to ensure every payment is instant and frictionless. At Sibos, we’ll discuss what is being done to spur on this evolution and remove any remaining friction points that still exist.
We’ll be running sessions on a number of solutions that help make payments faster and more predictable. Join us to learn about the new standard in cross-border retail and SME payments – Swift Go; our ultimate payment pre-check solution – Payment Pre-validation; and our innovative solution for exception handling – Case Management.
And don’t miss our session on the latest Swift platform enhancements and how we’re making end-to-end transaction management a reality. We’ll explain how our platform can help you deliver the best experience possible to your customers and future-proof your business.
Getting to the bottom of securities settlement fails is hot on the agenda for us at Sibos this year, and rightly so – while only six percent of transactions fail to settle on time, this still costs the industry billions of dollars every year. Come and hear from key securities players on why fails happen and what’s needed to stop them.
And how can we make sure investors get the ESG data they need to make smarter, more sustainable investments? We’ll be looking at how, as an industry, we can accelerate the investment community’s ESG journey.
Innovation in action
Innovation is everywhere at Sibos. To help you prepare for the digital future, we have an amazing array of Swift sessions covering everything from AI and APIs, to CBDCs, tokenised assets, blockchain and more.
Over the coming years, digital assets are set to gain momentum. We want to make sure the global financial infrastructure is ready for a future where digital assets exist alongside traditional ones – whether that change happens in one, two, or twenty years’ time. Interoperability and collaboration will be crucial to success – and at Sibos we’ll unpack the results of our latest collaborative experiments in the areas of CBDCs and tokenised assets.
We’ll also be discussing how artificial intelligence can help us continue to improve existing services and build brand new ones too. We believe AI has a firm place in finance’s future and have been investing in it with the help of C3.ai, Red Hat and Kove.
And we’ll look at the role blockchain could play in bringing more efficiency to corporate actions processing, which we’ve been exploring with Symbiont and leading securities players.
Standards and everything ISO 20022
If you still have questions about the payment industry’s move to ISO 20022, Sibos is the place for you. We’ve planned our Standards Forum sessions with you in mind so you can get all the info you need. Speak to our technical experts and get added clarity on what you need to know and how to make your adoption journey as smooth as possible.
Alongside our session on how ISO 20022 will make sanctions screening even more efficient, we’ll also be sharing thoughts on how this standard will make cross-border payments more efficient, help reduce risks, enhance customer experience and improve analytics. ISO 20022 will usher in a whole host of new opportunities for financial institutions – join us at the Standards Forum stage to learn more.
Managing risk & compliance
With the go-live of ISO 20022 for payments just around the corner, the promise of using richer data to improve the way we screen for sanctions has never felt closer. We’ll show you how the introduction of this standard is set to transform financial crime compliance.
And as global transactions become quicker and quicker, it’s increasingly important to make sure that compliance evolves alongside them to keep pace with ever-evolving risks. Get ready to dive deeper into other ways we can improve sanctions screening processes, with conversations around how collaboration could be the key to an even more efficient, securer network.
