ISO 20022 CBPR+ compliance for partners

Swift is working closely with the partner community to provide access to necessary information, specifications, tools and test services to support the industry in their journey to adopt ISO 20022, on-time and to the right standard.

Removal of unstructured postal addresses

As part of Standards Release 2026, fully unstructured postal addresses will not be permitted in CBPR+ payment messages. From 14 November 2026, where postal address information is provided, it must be in a fully structured or hybrid format.

See full details of this milestone here.

What action is required from technology providers?

To support your customers and ensure interoperability under SR2026, technology partners are expected to:

  • Communicate requirements to customers – financial institutions and/or corporates
  • Enhance channel applications to capture and validate submitted data in the correct structure
  • Implement controls to reject or repair uncompliant data submission before processing payments

Align development and testing timelines to be ready well ahead of November 2026 to avoid last‑minute disruption.

If you require further details, please refer to the SR2026 CBPR+ Usage Guidelines

CBPR+ ready payment applications

Swift maintains a “CBPR+ ready listing” of payment applications that enables Swift customers to identify which payment applications and their corresponding versions support initiating, receiving, relaying and/or processing CBPR+ payment messages. This CBPR+ ready listing is published on this swift.com page

Providers of the applications listed have confirmed and shared their commitment to support the CBPR+ message collection, in addition to the equivalent MTs.

The list of CBPR+ ready payment applications with their corresponding versions, is achieved through one of the two accreditation approaches, each requiring different levels of evidence from the application provider.

List of CBPR+ payment applications

The two approaches of accreditation are as follows:

  1. Obtain the Swift Compatible Application - Payments label
The Swift Compatible Application label means an application complies with carefully defined requirements for Swift standards, messaging and connectivity - helping customers to choose with confidence.

The applications with this accreditation level are displayed on top of the list on the CBPR+ ready webpage, marked with a label as “Payments”.

Find out more about the Swift Compatible Application Programme to apply for a label for your, application or browse our directory of Swift Certified Applications for the solution that fits your business.

  2. Complete CBPR+ self-attestation
The providers self-attest i.e., declare, under their own responsibility, that their payment application with the corresponding version complies with the defined requirements, to enable financial institutions to make informed choices when making purchasing decisions. Renewal of self-attestation for Standards Release 2026 has now closed.

Postal Address Registered Provider Self-Attestation 2026

A new self-attestation program specifically for structured and hybrid postal address will be launched shortly. Providers will be able to attest they have a live solution to convert unstructured address data to a fully structured or hybrid format. The new attestation form will be available from mid-June.

More information will be shared shortly.

Testing payment applications

Currently there are three options available for Partners and Registered Providers to test their payment applications.

  •  Vendor Readiness Portal on MyStandards
The Vendor Readiness Portal (VRP) on MyStandards allows Registered Providers to test the validity of messages from their applications against the CBPR+ Usage Guidelines.
To get access to the Vendor Readiness Portal, please reach out to provider.readiness@swift.com.

  • Integration Test Bed (ITB)
Swift provides the swift.finplus!xpf service on the Integration TestBed (ITB).

Alliance Access must be used to provide the direct connectivity to the ITB and to the messaging services. The ITB setup includes SWIFTNet Link, VPN Box, RMA security, and HSM box. More information can be found in the Developer Resource Centre on swift.com.

Registered Providers can find information on the FINplus service and instructions on how to subscribe by following this link to FINplus ordering on Swift.com. A Knowledge Base article has been created to give more details.

In addition, Registered Providers may apply for a Swift Compatible Application label to validate the compliance of their payments application. The requirements and process are published in the Knowledge Centre.

  •  Enterprise Testing Solution
The Enterprise Testing Solution (ETS) provides a stable and rich environment for Swift partners to test and qualify their products against our messaging and cloud services. The Integration Test Bed (ITB) environment – see below – ensures the compatibility of the message flow with SwiftNet central processing systems, while ETS allows for true end-to-end message flow testing (with Tracker and Transaction Manager), which is an important improvement for CBPR+.

The ETS is currently available to Registered Providers who:
    - Have an active membership to Swift’s Partner Programme
    - Have a payments application (back-end, core banking, etc.)
    - Are supporting clients on-boarding gpi services
    - Are providing on-boarding to Swift Business Connect product

Swift partners can reach out to provider.readiness@swift.com to register their interest and apply for testing access.
