Table of contents

The CGI-MP initiative includes five different Work Groups. Each of the Work Groups holds bi-weekly or monthly telephone conferences, with the latest documents published on our website.

WG1: Credit Transfer/Payment Status

The Payment Status Report guide provides a template depicting the flow associated with the message along with the harmonised message content.

WG3: Direct Debit

The main guide for direct debit transactions provides a comprehensive description allowing customers to initiate direct debits, or comparable payment instruments, in any part of the world.

The Work Group is also focused on identifying and publishing the Local Instrument code(s) to be applied for each direct debit instrument identified.

Additional guidelines have been captured in a parallel structure compared to other CGI Work Groups:

• Appendix A – Not defined
• Appendix B – Data requirements for specific countries by type
• Appendix C – Purpose Codes, including local codes, required for specific countries (being reviewed)

WG3 is facilitated by Peter Noonan from Electrolux and includes more than 30 experts from various financial institutions, corporates and vendors.

WG4: Electronic Bank Account Management (eBAM)

WG4 provides a forum for corporations, banks and vendors to collaborate on fostering adoption and enhancing the effectiveness of eBAM standards and processes around the world.

The group aims to simplify implementation for both corporates and banks by developing the common use of field in the messages and defining a harmonised set of ISO 20022 eBAM messages. The group also presents implementation case studies and best practice reviews to help companies transition to the electronic process.

• acmt.016 Account Excluded Mandate Maintenance Amendment Request
• acmt.017 Account Mandate Maintenance Request

• acmt.020 Account Closing Amendment Request

Bank to Corporate Messages:

• acmt.009 Account Opening Additional Information Request
• acmt.010 Account Request Acknowledgement
• acmt.011 Account Request Rejection
• acmt.012 Account Additional Information Request
• acmt.014 Account Report
• acmt.021.Account Closing Additional Information Request

An eBAM Status Report will be developed that will provide a template depicting the flow associated with the business process along with the harmonized message content.

The practice of eBAM benefits from the network effect; that is the more companies participate, the more valuable it becomes to each participant. The success of this group will be measured not by the number of changes we make to the standard messages, but rather by the number of clients, banks and vendors who productively use eBAM in their day to day operations. To further this objective the group will regularly present implementation case studies, and best practice reviews from corporations, banks and vendors to assist all companies in their transition to the electronic process.

WG4 group is facilitated by Hubert Rappold, VP Solution Engineering at Nomentia. The group includes treasury management professionals from a wide range of banks, corporates and vendors across the world.

WG5: Bank Services Billing (BSB)

WG5 focuses on defining the harmonised guides associated with ISO 20022 account/transaction reporting message, camt.086.001.01 Bank Services Billing Statement V01.

The group aims to build upon the foundations laid by TWIST and AFP.

Goals include:

• clarifying and enhancing message schema in order to meet the requirements of cash management products, such as addition of balances, interests, value dates and tax.
• Extending the set of mandatory fields to support the requirements of e-Invoicing to meet Global authority requirements.
• Improving the implementation and validation guidelines to assist banks with adoption and standardization, focusing on core capabilities that should be implemented.
• Further exploring the drivers (technology, economic, operational) that will enable the broad adoption of standards by banks

WG5 group is facilitated by Bridget Meyer from Redbridge Analytics and includes experts from various financial institutions, corporates and vendors.
