Leadership insights
Leadership insights from the global stage
We began this year by stepping up our global engagements, as part of our mission to reinforce our neutral role in connecting existing and emerging systems and forms of value.
Arab Payment Week
At Arab Payment Week in Abu Dhabi, Thierry Chilosi, our Chief Business and Strategy Officer, took part in a fireside chat titled ‘Connecting the Future: Swift's Vision for Low-Value Payments and Digital Assets’. Thierry focused on the reshaping of global payments and how Swift can play a role in modernising existing rails while connecting them to emerging forms of digital value. Our recently announced payment scheme and blockchain-based ledger were highlighted during the chat: two tracks, one outcome – better cross-border payments for everyone.
Consensus 2026 Hong Kong
Our plans to add a blockchain-based ledger to our technology stack were also a topic of conversation at Consensus 2026 Hong Kong. Devendra Verma, Business Lead Digital Assets at Swift, explored the increasing demand for tokenised value and how interoperable and industry-wide standards are required to unlock the scale and trust to power its potential.
World Governments Summit 2026
In Dubai, the World Governments Summit 2026 brought together governments, international organisations, thought leaders and private sector leaders to discuss 'Shaping Future Governments'. Rosemary Stone, our Chief Corporate Officer, highlighted advances in AI, public sector innovation and how Swift is helping to future‑proof the financial ecosystem.

Within this collaboration, both organisations are exploring a blockchain-based shared ledger designed to modernise existing payment rails, improve interoperability and support real-time, 24/7 value transfer across markets. The session highlighted the importance of industry-wide standards and partnership to unlock scale and trust in digital value systems, a key theme in Swift’s innovation agenda.
