Mauro is a Global Transaction Banking Business Director at Intesa Sanpaolo.

Initially, Mauro worked as a research fellow in Physics at Max-Plank Institut in Munich (D) and Drexel University (Pa. USA), publishing a few papers on quantum optics.

In 1990, he switched to management consulting and then banking.

He has worked for reputable companies, such as JPMorgan, Accenture, and BNP Paribas.

He has worked in Intesa Sanpaolo Group from 2000 to date, covering a few responsibility positions: COO for the asset management entity (2000-2006) and Compliance Officer for payments products (2009-2015).

In 2007, he was seconded in the European Central Bank for 18 months, contributing to drafting the T2S users' requirements.

In 2016, he moved to the GTB dept as head of cash management sales support for the international network of subsidiary banks. Since 2023, he has worked on digital innovation (digital assets, digital euro,...) from a business perspective.

Today, he can leverage 30+ years of experience, and his expertise covers cash management, digital solutions, compliance, asset management, and custody.
