Realising the benefits of SRD II
On 4 September 2020, the Shareholder Rights Directive (SRD) II came into effect, aiming to improve corporate governance, increase transparency between issuers and their shareholders, and encourage investors to engage in shareholder voting activities.
Nearly one year on, we’ll be taking a look at how the industry continues to approach the adoption of the directive and realise the key benefits it brings – including more efficient processes and improved experiences.
In this webinar, we discuss
- SRD II compliance: How far the industry has come and what still needs to be done
- Which ISO 20022-based messages are available to ensure compliance
- How SWIFT’s FINplus service can facilitate your business processes
- How MyStandards helps in understanding and analysing an SRD II-related message and testing against it

SRD II – SWIFT’s role
In order to harmonise and streamline operational processes, ISO 20022 is the chosen standard for messages related to SRD II. SWIFT is playing an active role in supporting the community around SRD II, not only as the Registration Authority for ISO 20022, but also through the Standards Development team. The team has worked with the industry to deliver the ISO 20022-based SRD II-related messages that the community requires, and made them available on MyStandards.
