13 April 2012

BRUSSELS - 13 April 2012 - The Innotribe Startup Challenge is a year-round competition designed to help introduce financial industry decision makers and early-stage investors to the innovations and emerging companies that are poised to transform the industry.

The Singapore event to be held on Tuesday 24th April is the second Regional Showcase in this year's Challenge. The winners from the Asian leg, as selected by professionals from the start-up and financial industries, will join the most compelling companies from the US and European Showcases to present their business to the world's most influential financial institutions at Sibos - SWIFT's annual conference - in Osaka in 2012 (October 29-November 1).

At the recent event in New York, P2P Cash Technology was voted ‘Top Startup' and Gust was ‘Top Innovator'. Following this year's Singapore event the winners from the Asian leg will be invited to attend Innotribe Bangkok at the Asian Banker Summit, providing them the opportunity to engage with the industry's top banking executives and corporates. The Challenge will then move to Europe, with a Regional Showcase in Belfast on June 14.

Kosta Peric, Head of Innovation, SWIFT said: "The Innotribe Startup Challenge in Singapore is a great way for Asia's most innovative companies to get their businesses recognized by an influential panel of startup experts. I'd urge anyone at a dynamic young business with a great idea that could really revolutionize our industry to apply and take part".
