SWIFT signs the ‘Women’s Empowerment Principles – Equality Means Business’
SWIFT signs the UN Global Compact and UN Women joint initiative
As part of SWIFT’s efforts to promote diversity and inclusion, Gottfried Leibbrandt, SWIFT CEO, recently signed the “Women’s Empowerment Principles – Equality Means Business” of the UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact.
Empowering women to participate fully in economic life is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities.
The Women’s Empowerment Principles offer practical guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. Developed through a partnership between UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact, the Principles are designed to support companies in reviewing existing policies and practices—or establishing new ones—to realise women’s empowerment.
I truly believe that we have to make sure we source our talent from a diverse pool; we have to allow women to tap into their full potential and give them the resources to do so.
