Swift supports the ten universally accepted principles of the UNCG and has taken a series of actions to advance those principles within our company

Swift is pleased to announce the publication of our fourth annual UN Global Compact Communication on Progress (UNGC COP) presenting our 2016 sustainability achievements and reconfirming our support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In October 2012, Swift became a signatory to the UNGC, the world’s largest strategic corporate platform for companies to align their strategies and operations with ten universally accepted principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and take actions to advance societal goals. By joining the initiative, Swift also agrees to issue an annual COP, a public disclosure to stakeholders on the progress it has made to implement the ten principles. Swift is committed to supporting the ten UNGC principles and has strong policies in place to implement these. The 2016 report highlights the steps taken to improve our sustainability during the year.

In 2016 Swift took a series of actions, with global campaigns focussing on diversity and inclusion, wellbeing, the protection of the environment and biodiversity.

We aim to involve our employees in CSR activities and in 2016, 24% of staff actively engaged in various CSR-related initiatives.

At community level, Swift’s CSR department supported a number of organisations aiming to provide equitable quality education and access to financial services and micro-finance.

These actions, their results and how they support the UN Sustainable Development Goals are described in more details in this Communication on Progress.
