As announced in the recent Global LEI Foundation (GLEIF) Press Release, Swift and GLEIF have collaborated to provide the First Open Source BIC-to-LEI Relationship File. This file provides the associated BIC and LEI codes of entities that have both identifiers, easing the data reconciliation for these two key, widely used and recognised, entity identifiers. It will be downloadable from GLEIF’s website on a monthly basis for free, starting yesterday (8 February 2018), and at a later stage this year from www.swift.com.
SwiftRef’s Head, Hervé Valentin, comments: “Supporting industry’s reference data challenges in the payment area has always been at the heart of SwiftRef’s mission. This collaboration with GLEIF is a tangible example of our commitment to serve the industry beyond payments reference data, and a recognition of SwiftRef’s expertise in entity data management.”
