27 March 2018 | 3 min read

Swift will be attending a wide range of treasury conferences and events during 2018 to engage with practitioners on best practices and collaborate on new innovations

The 2018 calendar of treasury and cash management events gives corporate treasurers and finance managers in all regions the opportunity to share experiences, discuss emerging best practices, and explore new innovations. Swift will be presenting and engaging with treasurers at a host of events.

Some of the highlights of the first quarter of the year included:

UNIVERSwiftNET, the first event on many treasurers’ conference calendar, took place in Paris on 13 March and gathered over 1,100 attendees of which 600 were treasurers. The event was the opportunity to discuss topics such as the impact of the financial services’ transformation for corporate treasurers. Alain Raes, Swift’s Chief Executive for Asia Pacific & EMEA gave his views on APIs and how the power of collaboration can be used to good effect. Also, Thierry Chilosi, Head of revenue management and pricing at Swift, gave an overview on international cross-border payments’ statistics and drew insightful conclusions for corporate treasurers. You can replay these sessions anytime through this link. On the topic of payments’ evolution, Marc Delbaere, Swift’s Head of Corporates and Supply Chain, talked about the opportunity that Swift’s global payments innovation (gpi) offers for corporate treasurers for more predictable and traceable cross-border payments. In the workshop, entitled “Multi-banked corporate: how to get the most out of Swift GPI?”, corporates and their banks explained how they worked closely with Swift to enhance the Swift GPI experience for multi-banked corporates.

We are excited about the many opportunities to meet, engage and collaborate with treasurers and finance managers in every region. By sharing insights, experiences and priorities, we can deliver the solutions to meet evolving cash, treasury and trade management requirements as companies of all sizes expand internationally.

Marc Delbaere, Head of Corporates and Supply Chain, Swift

Only a couple of days later, Swift participated to the EACT Summit, the annual conference of the European Association for Corporate Treasurers held on 15 and 16 March in La Hulpe. Marc Delbaere joined leading treasurers and CFOs from across Europe to discuss how treasury is evolving and adapting to a changing world, and shared ideas to shape the treasury of the future.

It is not only at treasury and cash management events that you can meet with Swift. In April, Huny Garg, Swift’s Global Head of Trade & Supply Chain will join >500 trade experts, banking professionals, business leaders, lawyers and government officials from over 65 countries at the ICC Banking Commission Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida to explore the future of trade finance.

You can also meet us at a range of other events. In April, we will be attending the Finance Symposium organised in Mannheim, Germany (25-27 April) as well as the ACT Annual Conference in the UK (15-16 May). And Swift will also be attending major EuroFinance conferences, such as in Miami (15-17 May) and Geneva (26-28 September), and many others, including those organised by industry partners. In addition, our own Swift for Corporates User Conference will be a valuable opportunity to meet other users, share insights and collaborate on the strategic direction for Swift in the future.

If you have not already put at least one treasury conference or seminar in your calendar this year, now is the time to do so. Have a look at the lined up treasury and trade events here.  We look forward to seeing you there!
