ISO 20022 Information Session

ISO 20022 Information Session

Over 200 market infrastructure driven initiatives are either already implementing ISO 20022 or considering adopting the standard for payments and securities transformation projects, and over half of these are operating in a live capacity. Asia is no exception with more than 20 cases of ISO 20022- based financial market infrastructures in production mode. ISO 20022, the financial messaging of the future, will pervasively facilitate the creation of new services and enhanced straight-through processing globally.

For decades, financial industry automation has been based on the exchange of structured financial messages, but this picture is changing rapidly. New automation approaches such as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) have emerged to challenge messaging’s dominance, while maturing technology, including Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), is being widely deployed in the financial services industry, driven by regulation and competitive forces. In the near future we can look forward to business processes that span multiple automation mechanisms.
