Thomas Nilsson

Thomas joined the CPMI Secretariat in January 2020 from Danmarks Nationalbank. He supports the programme on cross-border payments, leads the cooperation with Swift on analysing gpi payments data, and has primary responsibility for the expert group on payment system liquidity analysis. Before joining the Secretariat, he worked with economic analysis of large-value payment systems. His assignments included stress testing the Danish RTGS-system (Kronos) and designing tools for monitoring liquidity flows and risk concentrations to support oversight of the system. Prior to that, Thomas worked three years with macroprudential policy in the secretariat for the Systemic Risk Council of Denmark.
