José-Luis Langa has a degree in Economics and completed his PhD studies on Economic Finance. He joined the Central Bank of Spain in 1990.

In 2000, he was appointed Managing Director of the Interbank Payment Service. When this company was transformed to create Iberpay, he became its interim Managing Director. His current position at Iberpay is Deputy Managing Director, responsible for international, cash and institution relationships.

He is president of the European Automated Clearing House Association, member of the Advisory Group on Market Infrastructures for Payments at the European Central Bank, member of the Cross-border Payments Interoperability and Extension (PIE) Taskforce at BIS and participates in several groups at the European Payments Council.
