Second Deupty Governor, Bank of Ghana

Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi was appointed as the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana in February, 2018. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, she was a Senior Counsel at the IMF’s Legal Department (Financial and Fiscal Law Unit) focusing on financial sector development and regulation, financial stability assessments, design of crisis management frameworks and financial safety nets, as well as legal and institutional aspects of PFM. Mrs. Awadzi also worked as a commissioner of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission and worked on key financial sector legal and regulatory reforms in Ghana. She holds an L.L.B and MBA (Finance) from the University of Ghana and an L.L.M from Georgetown University, U.S.A.
