Jill Murtagh lives in Johannesburg, South Africa. Jill started her banking career as a junior clerk at Barclays Bank, South Africa at the age of 18. Since then having worked at First National Bank and ABSA bank. Currently, she holds the position of Executive Head: Payments and Banking Operations at Bidvest Bank and is responsible for all the operational support, and strategic payment gateways. Jill has spent many years in South Africa in the payments space, and is an expert in not only cross border payments, but also South African local payments. She represents the bank as a member/responsible official on the following: PASA Councillor – Payment Association of South Africa, SUSA executive member – Swift National Member Group, Banking association - Interbank Payments committee. Global Advisory Group- Wells Fargo Bank, United states of America. And sits on various boards for the bank in their payment business’s. Jill travels overseas, to keep up to date with all the latest payment innovation. She interacts with Payment Practitioners from all over the world.
