Building for the future: regulation, innovation and the transformation of banking
Welcome to this year’s Business Forum UAE. This free event, which will take place at the Yas Island Rotana, Abu Dhabi, on 7 December 2016, will focus on the key trends facing the UAE’s economy.
With financial crime compliance an increasing challenge, our opening session will look at how financial institutions are re-evaluating their cross-border activities to manage risk and balance the needs of their client against the requirements of the regulator while satisfying shareholder demands.
The programme for this event will combine keynote speeches and panel discussions to address a number of key topics. We will look at the UAE’s economic outlook. With the price of oil still volatile and ongoing instability in the region, the UAE has taken effective measures to diversify its economy and ensure it remains one of the most influential Middle East markets. We will look at the key challenges still facing the UAE and opportunities to overcome them.
With Abu Dhabi working to establish itself as the new FinTech capital of the GCC, another session will focus on FinTech investment and innovation in the payment sector, how disruptive FinTech companies are trying to eat into banks’ business, and how banks are fighting back.
You will hear from leading industry speakers alongside SWIFT experts and learn about what SWIFT is doing to meet the needs of its community. As always, the event will be an excellent opportunity to discuss and share experiences on topics of great relevance to you and your business.
I look forward to seeing you on 7 December!
