Patricia McSweeney

CIBC

Ms. McSweeney is responsible for payments Industry Relations in Canada within CIBC. In this role, she is responsible for establishing CIBC's industry positioning through broad consultation internally at CIBC as well as externally with other Canadian financial institutions, industry and government bodies. She holds an Economics degree from University of Waterloo along with Computer Systems and Executive Credit Management credentials. She began her career in the Treasury area, then moved to Corporate Banking, International Banking, Securities Risk, Retail Banking and most recently Payments and Products Innovations. She has extensive knowledge of the payments industry, having been intimately involved in the development of LVTS, along with worldwide ACH (currently IPFA), Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS), the Canadian Depository for Securities settlement system (CDSX), the Bank Note Distribution System (currency) and Canadian Coin Distribution system. Patricia represents the Canadian community.
