Swift Director since 2022. Niklas is a senior banker with 30 years of experience in the payments industry, during which time he has worked on payments (domestic & cross-border payments), Trade Finance and Swift. Most of his time is spent in work with payments infrastructures and the ongoing infrastructure changes taking place in the payments area. He currently serves as Head Industry Engagement in TxB Product Management, and as Head of the Common Capabilities Office at Nordea Bank Abp.

Niklas also serves on several strategic and operational industry committees in Finland and Europe. He has been the Chair of the Finnish National Member Group since 2019, representing Finland in the EMEA Swift Alliance (ESA) since 2017. He has also been a Board Member of EBA Clearing since 2018 where he also serves as the Chair of the STEP2 Business Committee and a member of the Nomination and Governance Committee of the Board. He also chairs the Financial Sector Pool in Finland, a cooperation body between the financial industry on one hand and the authorities on the other hand. This forum is currently focusing on the emergency preparedness of the financial sector and is working closely with the National Emergency Supply Agency (the authority responsible for security of supply) and Finance Finland, the bankers association of Finland. Finally, he is a representative of Nordea Bank to the Payments Committee in Finance Finland, since 2016.
