Melissa Tuozzolo is managing director in Global Payments in Global Transaction Services at Bank of America where she leads a global team responsible for the strategy and delivery of the International and Financial Services Payments product sets.

 Melissa oversees the migration to ISO 20022, implementation of strategic Swift initiatives, the transition to real-time 24/7 payments and payments infrastructure modernization. Payment channels under her purview include high value wires, ACH and real-time payment schemes within the bank’s global footprint.

 Melissa joined Bank of America in 2022 from Citi where she was the head of Payments Advocacy and Financial Market Infrastructures in the Treasury and Trade Services organization. Melissa managed a global team driving strategy and execution of global payments transformation programs including cross border RTP, Digital Assets Advocacy and the Financial Stability Board’s Enhancing Cross Border Payments roadmap. She also managed the Swift relationship and the Payments Financial Market Infrastructure network across 90 countries. 

 Previously, she worked at Amalgamated Bank where she led the digital Consumer banking business including online banking, mobile banking, new product innovation, account opening and consumer acquisition strategies. Prior to that she worked at HSBC in the North America International Payments team.

 Melissa is a U.S. representative of Swift’s Payments Market Practice Group (PMPG). She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Columbia University where she specialized in East Asian Studies and Economics. Last year, Melissa was the recipient of the Change Agent award from Woman in Payments U.S.
