Corporate Social Responsibility

We are working to make a more positive impact on the communities where we operate and do business

Facilitating business sustainability

SWIFT develops partnerships with organisations supporting education, microfinance and financial inclusion in emerging countries where we develop business, reinforcing our links with local communities in line with SWIFT’s strategy and business priorities.

Education

Education inequities exist in many countries and organisations. The Teach for All organisations aim to reduce these inequities by recruiting and developing diverse, outstanding graduates and professionals to teach in high-need schools. Starting with Teach for Bangladesh, Colombia and Ghana in 2015, we expanded our partnership to Teach for Argentina and Nigeria in 2016.

Another partner, Nairobits Trust in Kenya, trains less privileged young people in web design, IT and creative multimedia, helping them to enhance their employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Micro-finance and Financial Inclusion

Fundación Capital is an international organisation that enables low-income families excluded from financial systems to grow, value and protect their financial assets. This is done through financial inclusion, capacity building and promoting investment. Our support finances the development and launch of tablet-based financial education apps aimed at supporting young people and women in Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Tanzania.

In South Africa, SWIFT partners with the Phakamani Foundation, aimed at empowering women to become micro-business owners. They have developed an integrated programme of micro-enterprise training, group loans and on-going support.

The Mann Deshi Foundation in India strives to empower rural women by helping them to develop skills in technology, business, property rights, and leadership. Our support has contributed to the development of a business school for rural women, helping them to become financially independent.
