Corporate actions - Advanced processing

Learning channels: Classroom course  On-site training

The growing adoption of ISO 15022 based messaging by the Corporate Actions industry is encouraging, but the goal of true STP seems to be out of reach. The announcement message accommodates over 60 different event types so it must be flexible in definition. However, in practice there is a tremendous amount of variation in content and format. In this context, industry defined market practice becomes essential to achieve efficient processing.

The Securities Market Practice Group’s guidelines are key for any organisation seriously involved in reducing inefficiency and risk in corporate actions messaging.

This course will cover the scope of corporate actions problems, survey initiatives for improvement, and bring you up to date on major market practice guidelines. It will also illustrate how you can use the Simulation Testing and Qualification Service (STaQS) to perform an in-depth health check on your message formatting and precisely assess your data consistency with globally agreed market practice.

Audience

Business analysts, IT staff, operations supervisors and managers, Corporate Actions division personnel from institutions such as custodians, securities market infrastructures, investment/asset managers, data providers and broker/dealers.
