Audience
This course is mainly targeted at auditors who will perform an audit of a SWIFT environment, as well as security officers and anyone else who wants to be aware of the potential risks in different areas of the SWIFT environment.
You will learn how to
- Identify the different areas where potential risks exist and how these risks can be avoided. These risk areas include the access to SWIFTNet and the SWIFT interfaces, segregation of duties, accountability for the messages, integrity and confidentiality of the messages and resilience of the SWIFT interfaces
- Get a list of documents, data and tools that can be useful to perform an audit of a SWIFT environment
Course content
Various checklists and exercises on data analysis practice will guide you through the following topics:
- Overview of SWIFT
- Security on SWIFTNet
- Access to SWIFTNet and the SWIFT interfaces
- Integrity, confidentiality and other security controls
- Audit trails
- Archive, backup and business continuity planning
This course uses Alliance to illustrate different security concepts. Other SWIFT interfaces have different layouts of screens and printouts, but the general concepts are always the same.
Prior knowledge
A basic knowledge about SWIFT and/or about a SWIFT interface is useful but not required.
