Changes in the way you access swift.com through SWIFTNet

SWIFTNet Portal to be removed end of October 2008

Published on 25 Aug 2008

Access to swift.com through SWIFTNet will be made easier. From end of October 2008, you will be able to access the swift.com website from any workstation connected through the secure IP network.

Currently, access to swift.com through the secure IP network is only possible from an Alliance WebStation, or an Alliance Starter Set, configured for Browse. This setup then allows you to connect to the SWIFTNet Portal and browse the swift.com website.

To make access to swift.com easier, this restriction will be removed. At the end of October 2008, the SWIFTNet Portal will be stopped and it will be possible to access the swift.com website from any workstation that is connected through the secure IP network.

No special subscription is required; no orders need to be placed. To access swift.com from your workstation you simply need to make some configuration changes. For detailed instructions about how to set up your workstation and firewall, see Tip 2158460.

As soon as your workstation is configured, you can start making use of the online services, such as the patch download centre, the knowledge base, the case manager, or online ordering, directly from your SWIFTNet operational environment.

New 'Configuration Browser' service

Another feature of the SWIFTNet Portal was to view and update the messaging parameters of your SWIFTNet services. From October 2008, these functions will no longer be available through the SWIFTNet Portal.

The function to view your SWIFTNet messaging parameters will be made available through a new online service, going live end of October 2008: the Configuration Browser. If you need access, then simply ask the swift.com administrator in your organisation from end of October 2008.

To update your SWIFTNet messaging parameters, you will need to use the appropriate online order form, available in the online ordering application. If you do not have access to online ordering, then ask your swift.com administrator.
