BIC Database Plus to be stopped on 28 November 2008
BIC Database Plus users must now use BICPlusIBAN
Published on 14 Oct 2008
As
previously announced, SWIFT will discontinue BIC Database Plus. The last publication of this directory will occur on 28 November 2008. As from December 2008, the BICPlusIBAN Directory becomes the only source that allows you to find BIC and IBAN related data, to be used in SEPA payments. If you are a BIC Database Plus user and have not yet migrated to the BICPlusIBAN directory, then now is the time to do so.
What is the BICPlusIBAN Directory? The BICPlusIBAN Directory has a broader scope than the BIC Database Plus. It includes SEPA identifiers, such as:
- national bank IDs used in IBANs
- IBAN formats
- BICs issued with IBANs
BICPlusIBAN helps your financial institution to find the BIC corresponding to the IBAN, and to validate the IBANs, BICs, and their relationships.
You can download it from the
Directory Downloads web page.
Contracts of BIC Database Plus users will be converted to BICPlusIBAN Directory in January 2009, before the annual billing. The pricing of the BICPlusIBAN Directory is the same as the current BIC Database Plus.
