Data Registration Services

The BICs, BEIs and their characteristics are published in our BIC Directory. You can consult the existing BICs and their details using the BIC Search (free), or the BIC Directory (requires subscription).

Here you can submit a request to register a new IBAN format for your country or to modify it. All IBAN formats are published in the downloadable IBAN Registry.

The SEPA Routing Directory contains your institution’s data, such as the adherence to the EPC’s SCT/SDD schemes, the list of your SEPA-capable BICs and the ACH channels through which your institution can receive SEPA payments.
You have two options to maintain your institution's data:
Option 1: Use the on-line data maintenance page
Access to these update pages requires (free) registration. To register, go to Manage your profile and add the service SWIFTDirectories data update to your profile. After confirmation by your SWIFT Administrator, you will be able to access the update pages.
Option 2: contact SWIFT’s data collection service to provide your data: swift-sepa-routing@avox.info
SWIFT works with Avox to collect and maintain data in the SEPA Routing Directory. Avox, on behalf of SWIFT, collects initial SEPA Direct Debit data and also regularly contacts all SEPA participants to maintain their data.
In order to update your National IDs (sort codes), and their relationships to IBANs and BICs (for SEPA), or to receive an overview of how they are published currently in the BICplusIBAN Directory, please send an email, optionally with an attached spreadsheet with corrected data, to: IBAN-BIC@swift.com.

The EURO1/STEP1 Directory lists the BICs of the EURO1 and STEP1 Participants and the banks which can be reached by means of EURO1/STEP1 through the EURO1/STEP1 Participants acting as correspondent banks. Access to these update pages is only accessible to EURO1/STEP1 Participants and requires (free) registration. To register, go to Manage your profile and add the service "SWIFTDirectories data update" to your profile. After confirmation by your SWIFT Administrator, you will be able to access the update pages.
