Detailed features

SWIFT offers the BIC Directory in various shapes and formats:

BIC Directory Paper
In addition to the standard BIC Directory content, sorted in various ways, the BIC Directory Paper also contains a list of countries, currencies, banking holidays and other details. The directory is shipped quarterly. Monthly updates to the book are published as downloadable PDF files.

BIC Directory Pocket
A small version of the BIC Directory Paper, including the list of BICs used on SWIFT’s FIN service, and the A list of countries, banking holidays and other details. The directory is shipped quarterly.

BIC Directory Download
You can download the BIC Directory as an electronic file and integrate it with your applications or use it stand-alone as a desk-top data base, optionally using our free of charge BIC Enquiry Tool (BET) for browsing through the data. The directory is published monthly as a full file and a delta file containing the month’s changes.

Alliance Bank File
This is an electronic file that Alliance users upload into their interface for message validation and for updating their Customer Information Files. The directory is published monthly as a full file and a delta file containing the month’s changes.

BIC Online Professional
The online look-up tool for consulting the complete BIC Directory, and the BIC history, on your internet browser. The content is updated daily to reflect the urgent BIC (de)activations. It is an ideal tool for message preparation and repair.

Online Directories
By the end of 2008 the full content of the BIC Directory will be available for online consultation through our Online Directories on www.swift.com. The Online Directories will replace the BIC Online Professional. The data update frequency will be daily. The Online Directories will give access to all SWIFT’s directories.

BIC Search (free)
A limited version of the BIC Online Professional, updated monthly, available free of charge, for basic BIC look-ups.
