SWIFT’s custody and asset servicing offerings include:

Corporate Actions

SWIFT’s Corporate Actions solution combines ISO 15022 messaging standards and SWIFT connectivity to enable the standardisation and automation of corporate actions communication flows between information sources, market infrastructures, local agents, global custodians and investment managers. The solution is enabling financial institutions to reduce the costs and risks associated with processing corporate actions, and to build scale for this important function. In virtually all markets, ISO is replacing proprietary standards and is now the lingua franca for corporate actions.

STaQS for Corporate Actions

SWIFT’s Simulation Testing and Qualification Service (STaQS) for Corporate Actions has been developed to support the SWIFT community in implementing and conforming to market practice for their use of ISO 15022 corporate actions messages.

Collateral Management

Information is typically exchanged between a collateral giver (investment manager, broker/dealer or custodian) and a collateral taker (investment manager, broker/dealer or custodian) to provide details of collateral instructions, claims, substitutions of specific securities used as collateral and reporting statements.

SWIFT supports Collateral Management messaging through our ISO 15022 message standard offering:

Data Distribution

A wide range of information is distributed by market data providers to almost all other participants in the securities industry.

SWIFT supports Data Distribution through the following solution:

Proxy Voting

SWIFT’s Proxy Voting makes straight-through-processing a broadly achievable objective for proxy voting for the first time. Global and local custodians, exchanges, market infrastructures, and proxy agencies can meet their fiduciary responsibilities while reducing risk and cost.

Securities Reporting

Information is typically exchanged between a client (investment manager) and a financial institution (custodian) to provide details of activity and holdings in an account.

SWIFT supports Securities Reporting messaging through our ISO 15022 message standard offering:

SmartStream over SWIFT

SWIFT and SmartStream, the financial Transaction Lifecycle Management specialist, have partnered to enable financial institutions to communicate with SmartStream’s TLM OnDemand Software as a Service (SaaS) reconciliation service via SWIFT. Existing SWIFT customers can reuse their SWIFT infrastructure to use SmartStream’s service, reducing transaction breaks, operational risk and time to process transactions, while maximising their return on investment and minimising total cost of ownership (TCO).
