Help make a difference

Like last year, we will welcome One Laptop per Child to Sibos. OLPC is a non-profit organisation with a mission to empower children in developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child. To accomplish this goal, they need people who believe in what they are doing and want to help make education for the world’s children a priority, not a privilege. SWIFT is one of OLPC’s major partners and supports projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Interested in helping?

OLPC is looking to connect people and organisations within the financial community that can further support them, and to people who can become ambassadors for laptop deployment projects in their own countries. As a SWIFT Chairperson, we are convinced you can play a key role in this initiative.

In partnership with the International Polar Foundation, SWIFT is launching a challenge to the financial community to reduce the carbon footprint. The International Polar Foundation (IPF), created with the aim of providing a novel interface between science and society, communicates and educates on polar science and polar research as a way to understand key environmental and climate mechanisms.

IPF also promotes innovative and multi-faceted responses to the complex challenges raised by the need for action on sustainable development.
