Sibos 2010 preparations: 96% of 2009’s participants recommend you attend
15 Dec 2009

As post-event survey returns acclaim for this year’s event, pricing details for Sibos 2010 in Amsterdam are released.
The results of SWIFT’s survey of 2009 participants confirm that Sibos continues to live up to its billing as the world’s premier financial services event. More than 170 companies exhibited and nearly 6,000 individuals participated in Sibos this year. 96% of those said they would recommend attending again.
In an effort to ease the pressure of the global economic crisis on its customers and partners, in 2009 SWIFT postponed price increases that were designed to reflect the event costs and business value of Sibos.
Since then, a comprehensive benchmarking exercise to review Sibos in the context of 19 other industry events, and under the guidance of SWIFT’s Pricing Board Task Force, has been conducted. The review confirmed that the value of Sibos to its participants is significantly higher than other industry conferences, whilst the cost of participation is significantly lower. In light of this review SWIFT is adjusting the pricing for Sibos to align it with the event’s market position and value.
When asked how he felt about Sibos, a participant at this year’s event reflected the sentiments of many other respondents in the survey when he said that “it is the one time that the entire financial community is together – cross product, cross geography cross organisations. It is THE event for our industry.” Registration for Sibos will open in March 2010. In the meantime, for all the latest information as it becomes available, please visit the dedicated Sibos 2010 site or follow Sibos on Twitter.
