SWIFT The global provider of secure financial
messaging services

Browse

Browse in a secure, reliable environment

Overview

The Browse messaging service is based on the "https" internet standard protocol. Designed to complement FileAct and InterAct, Browse offers customers the capability to browse remote web servers using Alliance WebStation.

For communications of a more sensitive nature, the browsing capability provides direct access to the secure messaging features of InterAct and FileAct, offering authentication, encryption and non-repudiation. Such communication may, for example, include a request for more details or initiation of transaction based on the browsed data.

New: Single URL

SWIFT supports a set-up in which service providers operate multiple web servers for a service that end users can access through a single URL service name. This set-up provides resilience (for example, primaray and back-up sites), which is completely transparent to the users of the web service.

A Browse service provider can define up to four web servers for each single URL service name, and rank them in a priority order. SWIFT reroutes the end-user sessions to the next available server, according to the priority that the service provider sets. The principle is that SWIFT always directs traffic to the highest-priority web server that is available.

Bothe end users and service providers benefit from this feature: end users only have to use 1 URL address and benefit from increased server availability, and service providers can ensure seamless rerouting of end users' sessions upon failure of the primary server.

Single URL is free of charge, but you have to subscribe to it. Go to www.swift.com >Ordering > Manage > Service administrators > Setup of MA-CUG, Market Infrastructure or FINInform > Step 3: Define the service features in the Service Profile Form (SPF) > SWIFTNet Service Profile form (paper form).
