Useful information about processing and delivery of your request
- A SWIFT user that wants to deactivate from one of the SWIFT messaging services, should consult the appropriate service description. A SWIFT user that deactivates from all SWIFT services will automatically resign as a SWIFT user.
- Provided the request is fully compliant, SWIFT will process it within an average of five business days after its submission.
- In case you require a priority or emergency treatment of your order, consult the Knowledge Base tip 2234103 (login required) which details the possibilities and the related charges.
- For a deactivation outside BIC directory download activation dates, you must inform the SWIFT community with a Broadcast message (MT074). The broadcast will contain the mandatory and optional sentences listed below:
- Mandatory: Please be advised that "BIC reference - BIC8" will be deactivated from the swift network as of date (day, month, year) at time (hh:mm) GMT/UTC.
- Optional and only if you keep your non-connected BIC (BIC1): As of that date, our institution "Institution name" will be referenced via BIC1.
- Track your request with the order management and tracking (login required).
- The person who placed the request will receive automated emails that provide status updates of the request.
