Register Additional SWIFTNet Security Officers

Besides the two Main Security Officers, you can register additional Security Officers who are able to submit SWIFTNet offline interventions via the Secure Channel application. A representative of your human resources department or a public officer (for example, a notary) must confirm the identity of the Additional Security Officer on the printed form.

These additional Security Officers can also have online certificate management capabilities, but these capabilities must be granted by the online Security Officers, by means of the Local Registration Authority (LRA) module.

For information on the Security Officer’s role in the management of certificates, see the SWIFTNet Certificate Administration Guide and the SWIFTNet Service Description.

The submission includes the following steps:
  • Step 1: The person that registers as an Additional Security Officer must first register for online services on www.swift.com and then receives access to the free service “Secure Channel” (to be approved by your swift.com administrator)
  • Step 2: Complete and print the Register Additional SWIFTNet Security Officers form
  • Step 3: Complete the printed form with the following required information:
    • signatures;
    • Human Resources stamp;
    • identity document.
  • Step 4: Send the original to S.W.I.F.T. SCRL, Customer Security Management, Avenue Adèle 1, 1310 La Hulpe, Belgium.

If registration is valid, then the new Additional Security Officer receives a Secure Code Card. With this card he/she will be able to submit SWIFTNet offline interventions via the Secure Channel application. Note that SWIFT will also send an e-mail to the already registered main Security Officers mentioning the identity of the new Additional Security Officer.
