Improved swift.com launched

SWIFT’s website gets a makeover based on visitor feedback

Published on 18 Sep 2010

Following consultations with our customers and partners, SWIFT is proud to launch the improved swift.com website. This update includes a number of usability improvements and a fresh design: We have re-organised content more intuitively, to reflect better the way our site visitors think. The site's new navigation makes it easier to find information quickly. Finally, an emphasis on visual content such as graphics and video makes the site more dynamic and provides better ways of communicating key concepts.

Keeping up with customer expectations

In March 2010 we launched an online survey to gather feedback and opinions about our website. Many of our site visitors took part in the survey and provided us with valuable information. Your message was clear: you liked the website's basic structure but suggested improvements to make it easier to use. Above all, information was often difficult to find and not always easy to understand. It was time for swift.com to better meet your needs. We took time to analyse the feedback and then went to work improving the site's usability, structure and content.

Navigating made easy

The growing volume of content on swift.com had started to outpace the capacity of our navigation system, making menus long and cluttered. The solution was an innovative but proven design, called "mega-dropdown". It combines multiple levels of content into easy-to-access menus, available anywhere on the website. Try it yourself by moving the mouse over the main navigation tabs of the website!

The new navigation also reflects an improved information structure: content is now re-grouped with the advantage that important pages are now highlighted. For example beneath the Support tab, the "Need help?" section contains help for troubleshooting a problem, while the "Resources" section contains detailed technical information and documentation.

The result is a more streamlined and intuitive experience that better matches your needs.

Visually rich content

A picture paints a thousand words and this is why we've added more visual content to the website. It communicates complex ideas much better than text alone and provides for a better user experience. From the interactive stories on the homepage to the enhanced product pages, swift.com has never been so visually rich.

For an example of the improved visual content, visit the Standards or Reference data pages.
