Welcome to the SWIFT West Coast Business Forums 2009. This year, we will host the event in two locations: on October 27 in Pasadena, CA, and on October 29 in San Francisco, CA

With many global-reaching financial events behind us, and with new regulations and cost-cutting measures before us, we go boldly where no industry has gone before. The question is where will the future lead?  

If new payments technologies and the evolving financial technology landscape are leading indicators, then we have a lot to look forward to. Our opening plenary will explore a host of new payments capabilities along with the vision of leading technology providers for a view of new developments that will impact the global payments business post-crisis.

We also are pleased to welcome Gwenn Bézard, Co-Founder and Research Director at Aite Group, LLC, managing the firm's banking and payments practice, as the keynote speaker for these events. His recent coverage of the transformation of the payment industry, emerging products such as prepaid and decoupled debit cards, and competition among card networks will provide a thought-provoking view of the payments industry.
