Going for growth in a borderless world

Jairo Namur, Head of Latin America, SWIFT Americas

Let me be the first to invite you to the inaugural SWIFT Latin American Regional Conference taking place in Brazil. We have decided to take this important step to host a conference within the region to follow suit with our colleagues throughout the globe and to provide the region with a platform to showcase the intra-country projects and collaboration taking place to help secure continued growth for the territory.

Globalization has been a strategic imperative for financial services firms for some time, and the pace of change is only set to increase in 2012. Firms in mature markets continue to look to the BRIC and other emerging economies as a key source of business growth. This year at the SWIFT Latin American Regional Conference we will explore how local financial services are partnering with foreign markets, implementing innovation and leveraging globalization to define growth for the future.

A panel of experts will share their perspectives on how organizations are dealing with trends and changes in banking. As hosting country, we will hear about the challenges that Brazil is facing to maintain sustainable growth. Finally, another plenary session will feature the ways in which Latin America is changing and will continue to grow throughout 2020.

Senior leaders from SWIFT will be on hand to discuss how SWIFT is helping the industry to adapt to changing market conditions. We will also provide an update on our strategy and progress against our goals as we continue to work towards lowering your costs and making different industry networks, infrastructures and standards interoperable.

We will hold a series of work sessions covering a range of SWIFT’s products and services, from our interface services through to new offerings such as business intelligence, and sanctions screening services. Complimentary to the work sessions, we will be dedicating the afternoon of June 26th to deliver three special interest sessions covering Innovation, Standards and Technical Overviews.

We look forward to welcoming you to the first Latin American Regional Conference.

Sincerely,

Jairo Namur
Head of Latin America, SWIFT Americas
