Navigating the New Normal
Welcome to SWIFT Operations Forum – Americas 2010.
We have an exciting program planned for this year’s conference focused on “Navigating the New Normal”. What is the new normal? How have things changed post financial crisis and how do we move forward as an industry? Financial institutions and corporations are striving to find the right balance between the necessities of cutting costs and the realities of competition, globalization and business priorities. SOFA 2010 is the forum to discuss and debate the new world order as well as discover new tools that will pave the way forward.

Setting the stage for SOFA 2010 is a distinguished panel of industry experts from leading global financial institutions. The panel will explore how organizations can focus on growth and the opportunities of increased globalization while still managing costs and risk.
Peter Hinssen, CEO, ACROSS will join us for an innovation session. Mr. Hinssen is one of the industry’s esteemed thought leaders in the field of technology and will discuss the evolution of technology on business life and society with a focus on cloud computing – is this part of the answer?
Mike Fish, CIO, SWIFT, will run a special interest session on the latest technology trends and how SWIFT is adopting them to continue to deliver the highest levels of operational performance. Mr. Fish will share his views from the CIO’s seat, but will also engage other members of the community for additional insight.
Complementing the plenary discussions, SOFA 2010 will feature a series of Work Sessions covering SWIFT offerings related to banking and securities initiatives, such as payment trends, workers’ remittances and corporate actions. We will also have the SWIFT demo zone and an exhibition area featuring the latest offerings from the SWIFT vendor community.
We hope this provides a good snapshot of SOFA 2010. Additional speakers are being confirmed daily, so please check back regularly for additional updates.
We look forward to seeing you at SOFA in New York in April.
Sincerely,
Chris Church
