Bank readiness certification programme

To give corporate customers insight into the readiness of their banking partners, and allow them to take advantage of the benefits of their SWIFT connection, SWIFT has created the bank readiness certification programme. Certification helps banks prepare to participate in the SWIFT for Corporates programme and also offers corporate customers a clear view on the SWIFT capabilities of their banking partners.

Readiness is assessed based on a set of key criteria, some mandatory and some optional. The high-level mandatory criteria are:

Operational criteria:

• Participate in SCORE
• Receive FIN MT 101 and send FIN MT 940 and MT 942
• Comply with the FileAct Implementation Guide
• Offer testing facilities and script(s)
• Offer basic operational documentation
• Ensure support during implementation

Commercial criteria:

• Have SWIFT-knowledge and trained sales staff
• Offer Basic commercial documentation
