Lázaro Campos, Member of the Executive Steering Group, stated “We are deeply moved by Mr Walther’s sudden and untimely death and send our sincerest condolences to his wife Manuela, his family, close friends and colleagues.”
Mr. Walther’s enthusiasm, dedication and commitment were appreciated by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by everybody at SWIFT and in the Swiss financial community.
SWIFT would like to invite the Swiss financial community to a memorial service which will take place on Wednesday 30 March at 14:30 at “Alte Kanzlei”, Dorftrasse 13, 8606 Greifensee / Zurich.
The funeral, which will be for his family and close friends only, will take place on Thursday in Germany.
Mr Walther, Director of SWIFT’s Switzerland office since 2001, joined SWIFT in 1998 as Principal Sales Representative in Germany. Prior to joining SWIFT, he was Head of Global Marketing & Sales, Securities and Custody Services Division, Deutsche Bank AG. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Walther spent ten years with the Dresdner Bank.
