Frequently asked questions

What about my salary and its evolution?

At SWIFT we offer you a competitive salary including a wide range of benefits. The graduate programme also allows you to be part of a salary programme which will be effective as from day 1 in the company. Every 6 months during the first year and a half, your salary will be increased. You will also be elligible for an annual bonus based on your performance during the year.

What will my first months working at SWIFT be like?

During your first two days, you will attend an induction programme. The first day will provide you with information on the company, its values, your career and development programme, and an explanation of our intranet tools. Day 2 will be dedicated to the business of SWIFT, our principle projects and our key objectives. After your induction programme, you will then join your respective departments to start work. Your manager will give you a plan of activities, including courses to follow, meetings to attend and other useful appointments in order for you to adapt yourself to your new environment as quickly as possible and in an interactive way. A personal mentor will also be assigned to you. The role of this mentor will be to introduce you to key people, familiarise you with the environment and provide useful information to you about SWIFT so that you can launch your career quickly.

I wish to pursue evening classes to develop myself while working at SWIFT? Is this possible?

Yes. SWIFT will be willing to pay your school fees under certain conditions. Precise details will be provided to you when you send in a specific request. In terms of career development will I be able to change jobs in the company and meet other challenges?
Yes. This is what we refer to as ‘Internal mobility’. After 18 months in the same job, you will be able to change jobs and join another group. You will then receive new objectives and challenges to meet when you join your new business group. Link here to what Maria Goranova had to say about how she benefitted from this experience.

Will I be entitled to paid holidays as soon as I join SWIFT? How does it work?

The year following your entry at SWIFT, you will receive prorated legal holidays based on the period you have worked the year before. However, you have the possibility (under certain conditions) to take additional legal holidays that will be paid by the CAPAC/HVW.

I do not have a car, does SWIFT has transport facilities for employees?

Yes. Free busses are available from the La Hulpe train station as well as from Brussels. All information will be provided and explained to you when you sign your contract. People who are taking the train receive a subsidy from SWIFT. In addition, shuttle busses operate between the different SWIFT sites at lunch time. Above that, SWIFT offers you the possibility to get a company car in exchange of salary.
