- New version of the 3SKey software for MAC
- May-June 2022:
- As announced in June 2019, certificates activated between 15 June 2019 and 15 December 2019 have a reduced lifetime and will expire in May and June 2022. This is due to the expiry on 15 June 2022 of the SWIFT Certification Authority that issued those certificates until 15 December 2019. Since 15 December 2019 new 3SKey certificates are issued by the 3SKey Certification Authority.

More information can be found here - Since Dec 5 2020 login to the 3SKey portal installs SConnect 2.13. The version of SConnect 2.13 installed by the 3SKey portal is backward compatible with signing applications that use SConnect 2.10.

- An updated version of the MAC software is available, this corrects non-blocking issues in MAC OS 11 Big Sur when opening the Safenet Authentication Client Monitor or the Safenet Authentication Client Tools.
- September 2020:
- Improvements were made on the portal in aspects linked to the PIN policy, message handling, and Reset functionality. The PIN policy selection screen was moved to the process of activating the first administrator token. This prevents that a user group gets accidentally created without a defined PIN policy, if the browser is closed without selecting one after defining the administrators. Tokens that belong to a group with no defined PIN policy will receive the less restrictive policy the next time they are activated, reset, recovered or renewed.
More information here - SConnect 2.13 is now available from the SConnect installation page. This version is compatible with applications that support SConnect 2.10. This allows system administrators to plan the update to SConnect 2.13 for users who do not have the permission to install a new version of the extension themselves in the browser. The login process to the 3SKey portal will still install SConnect 2.10 if SConnect has not been installed before login. The login process to the 3SKey portal will be updated in November 2020.

More information here - Reminder: version 4.0.26 of the 3SKey software is no longer supported. After December 2020 the login to the 3SKey portal will require version 4.0.28 or higher of the 3SKey software, in order to have the necessary certificates. We recommend version 4.1.

- SWIFT is closely monitoring the current sanitary situation and has sufficient capacity and stocks to fulfil token orders. We are communicating regularly with 3SKey distributing banks to ensure the continuity of the 3SKey tokens supply chain.
Please liaise directly with your 3SKey distributing banks for specific information about tokens shipping and orders. We recommend against ordering more tokens than is necessary as it would only create an artificial increase in demand and effort from your usual token provider.

SWIFT introduces new policies regarding token passwords. Three new policies are being introduced: Minimum (Default), Medium and Maximum.

In the context of increasing security, SWIFT disables the non-secure ciphers. Please make sure your browser is configured to use TLS1.0 or higher. - Lifetime reduction for 3SKey technical certificates:
Before tokens are shipped to a distributing bank, 3SKey tokens are personalized by SWIFT with a technical certificate. Technical certificates have a default lifetime of 5 years.
Due to the changes SWIFT has planned on the PKI topology, the lifetime of these technical certificates will be reduced to 3 years.
The lifetime reduction will be applied for:- New token orders
- 3SKey tokens that are "setup for reset"
Activated tokens will not be impacted by this and can continue to be used.
